With the Easy-Email solution you are able to work with your email when and where you want to... it does not matter if you are using your home computer, your netbook, your laptop, your office computer, your mobile device or any other computer with an internet connection... all your email is always kept synchronized on all your computers and devices - automatically!
You do not have to buy any additional software to make this work. The Easy-Email solution works with your existing software or free alternatives.
We will publish a full list of the guides available, and we'll let you vote on which guides we work on next!
What can Easy-Email do for you?
With the Easy-Email solution your email will automatically be kept up to date on all your computers and mobile devices.
If you send an email from your netbook that sent email will also appear on any other computer you have set up with the Easy-Email solution.
If you organize emails in folders on one computer those changes are automatically reflected on any other computer you have set up with the Eas-Email solution.
Gone are the days when you were struggeling to find the computer from which you sent a reply to an important email... and gone are the days when you had to copy your business email address on your own outgoing mail just so you could keep yourself in the loop...
With Easy-Email your eLife is... Easy!
And you are free to email from whereever you like to...
What can Easy-Email NOT do for you?
Easy-Email is not software.(It is a set of guides, which explain how you can make your existing email software or free alternatives work for you the way email was meant to be: Easy!)
Easy-Email can keep your email synchronized on as many computers as you would like.
However Easy-Email can not synchronize your calendar at the moment.
And if you would like to keep your contacts synchronized automatically as well, you will need to use Thunderbird as your email client.
We are working on solutions for calendar and contact synchronization for other clients too, so please support our development of even more solutions for you... and remember to send us feedback so we know what we can improve!
Please also be aware that some companies have policies which stop you from storing your business email on Gmail.
At Easy-Email we can do a lot... but unfortunately we cannot change your employers' security policies.
How does it work?
All your emails are downloaded to a Gmail server. They are available from any computer with an internet connection.
Gmail is then synchronized with your own computers using your choice of email client: Microsoft Outlook, Windows Live Mail, Thunderbird, Apple Mail, Entourage, Windows Mail and many others.
You download copies of the emails to any computer on which you wish to work offline.
On your own computers you use your usual email client.
When using any other computer you use Gmail.
The result is the same: no matter which computer you use – you can access all your emails whether read or unread, sent or received, filed or in the inbox.
Is it really that easy to set up?
You do need a certain level of computer ability to be able to set this up. If you are comfortable setting up your own laptop or setting up a new email client then you will be able to set up Easy-Email. Otherwise we recommend you phone a friend!
If you have got this level of computer skills then it really is easy:
- There's no need to buy new software. We show you how to set up your existing email client or use free software.
The guides are set out with step by step instructions including screenshots for almost every step.
You can continue to use your existing email client on your own computers so no need to learn your way around a new program.
Set and forget! Once it's set up you don't have to think about it, your email is synchronized automatically every time you email.

What's the difference if I use webmail or an installed email client?
The main advantage of webmail is that you can access it from any computer with an internet connection. The downside is that you need an internet connection! Otherwise you can't even access your old mails.
The main advantage of installed email clients is that emails are downloaded so you can work offline. The downside is that you can't then access these emails from another computer.
The Easy Email guides show you how to synchronizes your email across webmail and installed clients, giving you the best of both worlds.
I use a another web mail provider. What can I do?
Gmail, Hotmail, AOL and Yahoo are the main web mail providers but there are many other providers out there!
As long as you can access your email using POP3, you can have Gmail pick up the mail from this address for you.
POP stands for Post Office Protocol, and is a language mail servers speak with each other. If two mail servers speak POP they can talk to each other. IMAP is another more sophisticated language.
Note that POP only looks in your inbox. So if you have filters, which automatically sort your incoming email in other folders than your inbox POP will not be able to pick up those emails.
Will I have to use Gmail as my web mail client?
Yes, you will need to switch to Gmail to manage your emails from the web. You could continue to use your other web mail client, but any emails you send from that client will not be synchronized with any of your other email clients. Whereas if you use Gmail, Outlook, Thunderbird, Windows Live Mail, Apple Mail and any of the many other email clients which support IMAP, your email will automatically be synchronized everywhere.
The good news is that if you currently use Hotmail, AOL or Yahoo Mail Plus you can continue to send and receive emails using your current email address. You just need to do it from Gmail or any of the other email clients listed here. So there is no need to tell everyone you have changed address.
And it is very easy to transfer all your contacts and email from most web mail providers to Gmail! This also includes the free Yahoo Mail.
Unfortunately the free Yahoo Mail does not allow you to access your Yahoo email from another email client via POP. This is required by Gmail to pick up email from the account on an ongoing basis. The best options are either to stop using this address or to upgrade to the paid version. You can upgrade here: http://overview.mail.yahoo.com/enhancements/mailplus. We are looking into ways of including free Yahoo Mail in the Easy-Email solution, so please come back here for the latest news on this topic.
Why Gmail? What if I don't like Gmail?
You might wonder why we have chosen Gmail as the central synchronization point.
What some people love others hate. This also extends to the companies providing free web email. Many people have strong opinions about Google, Microsoft, AOL and Yahoo as companies.
We have used technology criteria in deciding to use Gmail. The central point is the support for the Internet Message Access Protocol, or IMAP. Of the big web mail providers, only Gmail and AOL provide this support. Without IMAP there is no email synchronization. It is as simple as that.
Gmail is more widespread than AOL and it provides many functions that are not supported by AOL, so we chose Gmail.
We have also made one fundamental non-technical decision: We trust that Google will handle our email with respect.
If you do not want to use Gmail our solution can still work for you! You will need another IMAP server as your central synchronization point and you will have to modify the configuration. You will be able to find more information on how to do this on our web site.
What if I have a question?
On our web site you will find a forum, where you can post questions and look at other people's questions and answers. We will answer questions and provide help on the forum on a best effort basis.
Unfortunately we cannot provide individual support with the guides. We hope that you understand our pricing model does not allow for a support team to be on call. The guides have been thoroughly tested and they are very detailed. If you follow the instructions closely you should not encounter any problems.
You will also find a wealth of other information related to Easy-Email and email in general on our web site.
Are there any similar products to Easy-Email?
We haven't found anything that sets out the steps you need to get to this result in such a clear (and inexpensive) way.
There are plenty of enterprise solutions that involve new software, hosting programs, vpns or even hardware such as exchange servers and if you work for a big company you may already have a solution in place.
For an individual or small business owner however we have not found anything that gives you this result in such an easy way. The options are to work out how to do it yourself by researching on the internet or buying an alternative such as a remote access (which will only work online) or a hosted exchange server. The the closest thing we've found for solving the same problems costs $9.95 per month per user and is designed for one particular email client.
If you know the right questions to ask you can probably work out something similar by doing internet research. To get to the level of success of this solution it took our own IT Guru a couple of weeks starting from working out what to do and how. Of course we've given you more or less how and what the benefits are so if you want to try it yourself have fun!
If you want to save time and hassle however (which is the aim for most people we've spoken to!) this really is the best solution we've found out there. Let us know if you've tried other solutions and how you rate us in comparison.
How much time should I set aside to setup Easy-Email?
First time you set up Easy-Email Essential we recommend you set aside 4 - 5 hours. This will give you enough time to familiarize yourself with the way Easy-Email works, collect the information you need and set up Gmail and one other email client.
Once you are familiar with the process you should be able to setup Easy-Email Essential with Gmail and one other email client in 2 hours.
Each additional email client you wish to setup takes about ½ – 1 hour.
If you want to setup Easy-Email Advanced as well, double the time.
The time does not include the time it takes to backup your email. If you have a lot of email this could take a while.
Once Easy-Email is setup, your email is automatically synchronized – you do not need to do anything further.
Do you offer support?
We offer support on our forum which we will update on a best efforts basis.
If there is any widespread change that affects the guides we will contact you to advise you of these changes. (For example if one of the email clients were to change a setting or a feature). We recommend that you sign up so we can contact you.
The Guides are clearly set out with step by step instructions and screenshots for every step of the process. If you follow the guide you should not have any problems.
Please note that you need to be registered on the site to post questions on the forum but you may read forum questions without logging in.
And please note that we do not offer refunds either, we offer the Essential Guide on a "try before you buy" basis so you can try it for free.

What if I don't like it?
We have designed the Easy-Email guides so you will keep your old way of downloading emails active while you try out the new Easy-Email solution. It does mean that you will be downloading your emails twice until you decide which solution to keep. However it also means that you can – at any time – decide to stop using Easy-Email. And it is easy!
Once you have made a decision on which solution to keep you simply turn off the other solution. The Easy-Email guides show you how simple it is to do this - step by step.
I have a new question for your FAQ!
