Creating and Configuring an Apple Mail account

This section is only relevant if you need to create your Gmail account manually or if you wish to verify the account settings are correct.

 

Follow these steps:

  • For Account Type, select IMAP.
    For Description, enter Gmail.
    For Incoming Mail Server, enter imap.gmail.com
    For User Name, enter your gmail user name. In our example, it is walletpcuser1.
    For Password, enter your gmail password.
    Click Continue.

  • For Description, enter Gmail.
    For
    Outgoing Mail Server, enter smtp.gmail.com
    Check
    Use Authentication.
    For
    User Name, enter your gmail address. In our example, it is This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
    For
    Password, enter your gmail password.
    Click
    Continue.

  • Check Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL).
    For Authentication, select Password.
    Click Continue.

  • Check Take account online.
    Click Create.
