Download emails to Thunderbird 2.0 for offline use
When you use Thunderbird 2 with the Easy-Email solution it works as you are used to, however it will synchronize with Gmail instead of downloading emails.
You can choose to download a copy of your emails so you can work offline as well. This means you will be able to read and respond to emails when you are on a plane or a train for instance. Once you get an internet connection again your emails will be sent.
You can choose which emails to have a local copy of on your computer by adjusting the Synchronization Settings.
This article discusses how you can modify these settings.To set the synchronization settings follow these steps:

Go to Tools → Account Settings → Offline & Disk Space.
Check Make the messages in my Inbox available when I am working offline.
Check When I create new folders, select them for offline use.
Then click Select folders for offline use...

Select the Inbox, Drafts, Sent Mail, Spam, Starred and Trash folders along with any personally created folders you wish to have access to offline.
Note! You might not have the All Mail folder.
Click OK twice.
