Group emails by thread in Thunderbird 3.0
Gmail organizes emails in conversations. Thunderbird can order emails in a somewhat similar way by enabling Threads. Responses to an email are grouped with the original email making it easy to follow an entire conversation.

To view messages in thread order go to View → Sort By → Threaded.
In View → Threads you can fine tune the settings.

You can also toggle threads by clicking the thread symbol next to the star.
