Backup your emails in Windows Live Mail
Follow these steps:

Select a folder to store the backup in.
We recommend that you create a new folder. We created a folder in the Documents folder called Mail Backup. Within that folder we created another folder with a name of today's date.
You can create the folders after you click Browse.
Click Next.

Your restored messages are located in the Storage folders under Imported Folder.
